Event: ReMaking ReSearch

The Emily Carr Provost’s Office is pleased to present ReMaking ReSearch, a series of dialogues on emerging research practices at Emily Carr and in the fields of art and design more broadly. This series will lead up to a major symposium on Research in Art and Design that Emily Carr will host in the fall of 2012, in partnership with the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD). It is intended as an opportunity to discuss the current state and future agenda for “research” at Emily Carr and to generate some of the key themes, questions, and issues that will animate the symposium in the fall.

Supported by the VP Academic/Provost’s office and the Emily Carr Research Ethics Board, the panel endeavors to continue an important conversation about Emily Carr’s unique culture of research and innovation, and to generate lively debate among faculty, students, and staff. Presented by Lois Klassen, Glen Lowry, Deborah Shackleton, and Julie York.

Dialogue No. 3: Helene Day-Fraser + Keith Doyle | DnA: You Are, We Are, Our Work Is: Practices for Engaging Peers
11:30 am, Friday, March 16 | MoCap Studio, Emily Carr North Building  | RSVP

Seeking to engage, DnA is a project that explores the convergence of research that exists within Emily Carr University. What are your aspirations for a dialogue on research? What are our aspirations for a dialogue on research? How do we draw the connections? This dialogue will explore making, marking, and charting the semantics of research amongst peers while asking: How do We do? How do We practice? What do We pursue?
